Introduction
Kyrosight Pty Ltd (ABN 67 693 907 292) is an independent market research and insights consultancy. We conduct market, social and behavioural research on behalf of clients to generate insights and evidence to support decision making.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information transparently, respectfully and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how we keep it safe, and the choices and rights available to you.
Kyrosight complies with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”). Kyrosight also adheres to the Privacy (Market and Social Research) Code 2021 (“Code”), and adhere to the professional standards of The Research Society. What personal information about you does Kyrosight collect and hold?
The information Kyrosight collects may include personal information, such as your name, gender, age or date of birth, occupation, salary and contact details, as well as sensitive information, such as your opinions and feedback in relation to brands, products and services, as well as your political opinion or health information. Sensitive information will only be collected with your prior consent, and only if it is directly related to, or reasonably necessary for, the research we conduct.
We generally collect personal information directly from you, when you visit our website, contact us with an enquiry, complete online forms (including Microsoft Forms), express interest in or participate in research activities, or via third-party fieldwork suppliers.
Why does Kyrosight collect your personal information?
We collect personal information where it is reasonably necessary to conduct market, social and behavioural research, assess suitability for participation in research, invite you to participate in research where you have consented, administer research incentives where applicable, respond to enquiries, and to meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations. We also collect personal information generally in the course of our business.
We collect your personal information in various ways: directly from you, when you provide it to us (e.g. when you agree to participate in research, when you download a report or contact us), automatically when you use our website or services (e.g. through cookies / IP address), or from third parties (e.g. business partners and service providers).
How does Kyrosight use your personal information?
We use personal information only for legitimate research-related purposes and for conducting our business generally. We will not use or disclose your personally identifiable information for the purpose of advertising, promotions, or direct marketing activities. If you have participated in our research, we will only re-contact you if you have consented to being re-contacted or we have valid reasons to believe a genuine research concern warrants such re-contact.
Who will Kyrosight disclose your personal information to?
Kyrosight will not disclose any personally identifiable information we collect from you unless we have your express prior consent or it is authorised by law.
In the course of conducting our research we may rely on third party service providers to support our research activities, such as research and survey platforms, transcription service providers, and incentive administrators. The details of our third party service providers are available upon request.
We will also take reasonable steps to ensure any service providers (and their employees and contractors) comply with the Privacy Act and this Privacy Policy and/or are subject to similar privacy laws to ensure personal information is handled securely and only for the purpose for which it is provided.
Kyrosight does not usually disclose personal information to entities outside of Australia in the ordinary course of its business. If we do disclose personal information to an entity outside of Australia we will only do so with your express consent and will take reasonable steps to ensure such entities comply with the Privacy Act and this Privacy Policy and/or are subject to similar privacy laws to ensure personal information is handled securely and only for the purpose for which it is provided
How does Kyrosight collect and hold your personal information?
Kyrosight will generally collect your personal information using third-party fieldwork suppliers. You will always be informed about the circumstances of this collection.
At times we receive customer data with personal information from our clients or marketing list providers for research purposes. On such occasions, Kyrosight takes appropriate steps to ensure that the information provided to us is provided in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Kyrosight operates on Microsoft 365, with servers based in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. When no longer required, information is securely destroyed or de-identified. We may in certain circumstances be required by law to retain your personal information after our research has been completed. In this case, your personal information will continue to be protected in accordance with this Policy. If we destroy personal information we will do so by taking reasonable steps and using up-to-date techniques and processes.
Your rights
Participation in research is voluntary, and you may decline a research invitation at any time. You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you. You can request this information by contacting: privacy@kyrosight.com. Where we hold information that you are entitled to access, we will respond to your request in a reasonable timeframe and endeavour to provide you with a suitable range of choices as to how access is provided (e.g., emailing or mailing it to you). A fee may be charged to cover the cost of retrieval. However, this fee will not be excessive and will only apply to the facilitation of your request.
If at any time you believe that personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, then you may request amendment of it and we will either amend the information or make a record of your comment, as we think appropriate.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or believe that we have at any time failed to keep one of our commitments to you to handle your personal information in the manner required by the Privacy Act, the APPs or the Code, then we ask that you contact us immediately using the following email: privacy@kyrosight.com.
We will respond and advise whether we agree with your complaint or not. If we do not agree, we will provide reasons. If we do agree, we will advise what (if any) action we consider is appropriate to take in response.
